Collagen is a key component of the skin's middle layer (Dermis). It provides structural support and helps the skin remain firm and elastic. As we age, collagen production naturally decreases approx 1-2% per year,  by the time we reach menopause we will have lost around 25-30% of our collagen. Less collagen means a loss in skin elasticity, which can result in sagging and the formation of those unwanted wrinkles.
